The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, he's gone.

Paranormal Activity

First, I'd like you to check out my Youtube channel, which has flash animations, music & more! Subscribe if you like ;)

A short Paranormal Activity review (kinda)...

Yesterday, I decided to watch the movie everyone has been talking about: Paranormal Activity. Based on the trailers and reviews it received, it looked like a really scary movie. Comments like "OMGOMG I couldn't sleep for YEARS", "I fucking pissed all over my CAT!" are common in the reviews. Since I had not been scared by a movie since I watched The Ring as a 4th grader, I hoped that this would scare the shit out of me.

To increase the chance of getting scared as hell, I waited till it was completely dark outside, turned off all the lights, put on my headset, went to bed, and pressed play on my computer. The movie starts off pretty good. It's very realistic (the whole movie is seen through a handheld cam), especially the acting, which is perfect.

As the movie progresses, it becomes more and more thrilling, and I was really tense. I won't give away any details here, but when the movie was over, I was surprised thinking about how I wasn't scared (nearly) at all. Don't get me wrong, it is the scariest movie I've seen (movies usually don't scare me at all), but still I expected to get more scared.

Paranormal Activity: Overhyped, but still very good. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.

I'll watch it even if it's not scary, I'm just curious about the story.

you should watch it ;D

You used the police ending as the ending photo. Interesting.

Thanks, I have been wanting to see it. First I needed a review heeh.

yah ;D Too bad I couldn't watch it in the cinemas btw, they don't have it in cinemas here in Norway ;(

Probably a really bad film to see for people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

So I won't see it. Even the trailer freaked me out so I stopped it halfway or even closer

Hmm, the movie is not that much scarier than the trailer :p

Seen it in the theaters, at the very end, my eyes were wide as her mouth.

^^ I watched another ending, btw. The original ending (that I watched) is not that climax-ish, but it's more realistic and better, in my opinion

It was pretty good interesting but not too scary imo. But I still dug it.

agreed

Yeah, I saw this the other day, it's fuckin' awesome.

Despite the fact it wasn't all that scary, it still kept me at suspense the whole time, especially towards the end, where the girl.... I shouldn't ruin it.

But, I'm exactly like you, I love my horror movies, but I haven't been scared since I first saw Resident Evil, back when I was like, 10.... Heh.

Also, I totally agree with your rating, the movie is very well done, in fact, I may go watch it again.

I totally agree with you. It kept me in suspense too, and it is very well done, but I didn't find it scary. I think, however, that the ending should be re-done. A film like this deserves a better ending. Even though they have made 3(!) endings for it, I didn't think anyone of them was good enough. They should come up with something unique, like they did with the Blair With Project. Something that sends you shivers down your spine, leaving you with an "OMG"-look on your face.

Personally, I also thought the trailers looked good and reviews reeled me in to see it. I was VERY VERY VERY dissapointed in this movie, I didn't think it was scary at all and I found it boring. My girlfriend fell asleep during it. I really don't see how it got good reviews. The story was fake too, the director said so, he got the idea from hearing noises where his new house was settling. "Paranormal state" scares me way more than this.

It's a unique movie, even though something similar has been done before a few times. I didn't think it was scary, but I didn't find it boring ;)

Did they tell those people it wasn't real? XD

And were those people selected by some sort of test about how easy they get scared? :P
