Paranormal Activity

First, I'd like you to check out my Youtube channel, which has flash animations, music & more! Subscribe if you like ;)

A short Paranormal Activity review (kinda)...

Yesterday, I decided to watch the movie everyone has been talking about: Paranormal Activity. Based on the trailers and reviews it received, it looked like a really scary movie. Comments like "OMGOMG I couldn't sleep for YEARS", "I fucking pissed all over my CAT!" are common in the reviews. Since I had not been scared by a movie since I watched The Ring as a 4th grader, I hoped that this would scare the shit out of me.

To increase the chance of getting scared as hell, I waited till it was completely dark outside, turned off all the lights, put on my headset, went to bed, and pressed play on my computer. The movie starts off pretty good. It's very realistic (the whole movie is seen through a handheld cam), especially the acting, which is perfect.

As the movie progresses, it becomes more and more thrilling, and I was really tense. I won't give away any details here, but when the movie was over, I was surprised thinking about how I wasn't scared (nearly) at all. Don't get me wrong, it is the scariest movie I've seen (movies usually don't scare me at all), but still I expected to get more scared.

Paranormal Activity: Overhyped, but still very good. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
